Question #1
(Push) Jagmeet “Jimmy” Singh is the ‘charismatic’ ‘New’ Leader of the New Democratic Party of Canada. He seeks to run in a by election in Burnaby BC in a seat left open by Kennedy Stewart’s recent election to position of mayor of Vancouver. Recently, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced a number of by elections across Canada to fill empty seats, but did not elect to call one in the vacated seat Jagmeet Singh is seeking in Burnaby, BC. In your opinion which of the following response choices BEST reflects why Prime Minister Trudeau refuses to call a by election in Burnaby BC which may provide NDP Leader Singh to debate Trudeau in the House of Commons?
(Bias-push)Trudeau has many BC seats within the general vicinity of Burnaby BC and fears losing them to the NDP in the 2019 federal election – and will likely not call a by election instead waiting long enough to say it is too close to the election    46 %
(Fact)Trudeau is not legally compelled to call a by election, and besides Singh has previous opportunities to run and chose not to    20 %
(Bias-push) ‘Jimmy’ Singh has more charisma and talent than Trudeau ever will    9 %
Indifferent to question    13 %
Undecided/Can’t Answer    11 %
