Ms. Black:
Thank you for your letter of Thursday November 29, 2007. regarding the $10 minimum wage.
A fair minimum wage for British Columbians is $10.00. I also think it is important that both a Conservative member and a BC NDP MP can mutually agree on what is fair for British Columbians.
I am concerned that Conservative, MP James Moore (Port Moody/Westwood/Port Coquitlam), has taken no position on a fair wage despite his own constituents demand for a fair wage for British Columbians.
Miss Black, I also do not recall you or James Moore raising the issue of the $10 minimum wage during the debate of Bill C-52 at or about April 2007. In this era of prosperity, British Columbia , requires a $10 minimum wage policy.
I note that BC Liberal Premier Gordon Campbell is against the $10 minimum wage, and some in Mr. James Moore's executive are friendly to the BC Liberal Party.
Jim Van Rassel
