Glen P. Robbins -- BC Conservative Party
Vancouver, British Columbia |
Glen P. Robbins, set to formally announce his run for leader of the BC Conservative Party next week-- is declaring that if he is provided with a "proper mandate" to govern from the voters in the Province of British Columbia, he will direct the BC Attorney General -- within 120 days of being sworn in-- to launch a $3 billion lawsuit against the Federal Government of Canada (“Her Majesty the Queen”).
The lawsuit is based on Section 33 of the federal Canada Interest Act.
Robbins says that “The Federal Government of Canada has had law in place for decades, in fact since the beginning of our history in Canada-- compelling all legal entities who issue invoices for amounts to be paid: including (but not limited to) Canada Revenue Agency, all Banking, Financial Institutions, lenders, and other businesses including those under the purview of the Federal Government of Canada such as the C.R.T.C. to properly and honestly declare APR’s (Annual Percentage Rates) to British Columbia consumers, and has permitted through gross negligence or other these government agencies and businesses operating under government law and regulation to otherwise “hoodwink” and gouge British Columbians, and Robbins intends to make the Government of Canada provide appropriate redress to British Columbians for ignoring these lawful obligations.”
Robbins adds “That in order to comply, all British Columbia cities and municipalities will also be compelled by underlying provincial law--that Glen P. Robbins will personally help draft--to properly disclose all charges: penalties or fines to comply with federal law and The Canada Interest Act clearly and properly disclosing actual APR's and where this is not done he will order the Attorney General of BC to pursue redress from any city or municipality not in compliance to refund interest overcharges to an annual rate presently stipulated by the Federal legislation--namely 5% per year to homeowners affected-- as a refund. Robbins says he considers this release and any discussion to follow to be deemed sufficient notice.
Robbins says that he will raise this issue before and during the next provincial election in order to ensure the citizens of the province are clear on his intentions--a vast departure from the lies and deception offered by the Campbell Liberals during the most recent provincial ‘sort of an election’.
Robbins says “Any monies raised through trial or settlement with the federal government will be earmarked directly for programs that benefit all British Columbians such as health care, education and the environment and will NOT be applied to general revenues.”
