Commentary
Glen P. Robbins who is presently seeking the leadership of the BC Conservative Party-and awaits the provincial party’s decision on specific leadership contest dates and locations--is
Blasting Ontario Liberal leader Dalton McGuinty’s proposed decision to “sell off the Ontario people’s assets including the lucrative Ontario Lottery TO: Big Business interests.”
Glen P. Robbins says his “vision of the future of the BC Conservative Party and all of British Columbia is to retain investments of the people.”
Robbins adds “Ontario Liberal premier Dalton McGuinty’s proposal to sell off the assets of the province of Ontario to -who knows who- is nearly as shameless a proposal as BC Liberal Gordon Campbell’s ill-gotten H.S.T. scam.”
Says Robbins “When the public is not supporting large corporations or big business, and continues it’s longstanding disdain for governments and politics generally---does premier McGuinty truly believe he has the ethical capital to make this policy decision at this time?”
Robbins says that if he is provided with the opportunity by the voter’s in British Columbia he will “pledge to ensure that all citizens have the right to make major decisions on matters of the sale of assets and other significant financial or political decisions including matters like BC Hydro (sold off by Campbell’s Liberals), H.S.T., H.S.T. (again).”
Robbins re-asserts his promise to “tear up the British Columbia H.S.T. agreement if elected to premier by the voter’s in British Columbia”, and vows to hold steady on this course for “however long it takes”.
“I believe the leader of the Province of Ontario should re-consider his decision.”
